A dramatic runner of deep red roses flows straight down the center of the table, instantly setting the tone. These stunning roses were provided by Waneita of Bentley Florist in Burton, MI, and they truly brought the vision to life. Some arrangements sit low and full, while others are elevated in gold urn vases, adding dimension and a touch of old-world charm. The variation in height keeps the table visually interesting while still feeling intimate and inviting. I also had the chance to snap a few images of Waneita during the shoot — capturing the florist behind the florals felt like the perfect way to honor the artistry that went into every stem.

Each place setting was layered with gold beaded charger plates topped with vintage Depression-era Miss America plates, blending nostalgia with elegance. Second-hand crystal goblets paired with gold-trimmed champagne flutes add character and sparkle — proof that collected pieces often tell the best story. Soft candlelight dances across the table, warming the wood tones and tying everything together.

Scattered throughout the table are delicate macaron cookies, adding a subtle sweetness and another layer of texture. They’re almost too pretty to eat… almost. These beautiful (and delicious) macarons were made by Danielle of French Vanilla Photography & Bakery, whose talent extends far beyond the kitchen. Isn’t she so pretty!? What a great smile!

Danielle joined us at the historic Aitken Estate in Flint Township, where this romantic shoot took place. The estate’s timeless architecture and rich character created the perfect backdrop for such an elevated Valentine’s setting. While she was there to photograph the table — and beautifully capture all the thoughtful details — I had the chance to snap a few photos of her in action as well. It felt especially fitting to showcase her behind the scenes, bringing her creative eye to the very table she helped sweeten.
To elevate the experience even more, Hive Bartending, Dustin, created a stunning champagne cocktail that fit the table perfectly. Light, bubbly, and celebratory, it was the ideal Valentine’s signature drink. Be sure to check out the recipe card for all the details if you’re inspired to recreate it. And I’ll be honest — one of my favorite parts of this shoot was getting to actually drink the cocktails while photographing the set. Sipping a beautifully crafted champagne cocktail in the middle of a styled Valentine’s table at the Aitken Estate? Highly recommend.

This entire setting came together through collaboration — beautiful florals by Waneita, handcrafted sweets and photography by Danielle, expertly mixed cocktails, vintage finds, and a historic backdrop — all layered into a Valentine’s tablescape that feels both luxurious and heartfelt.
